C-SPAN or Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network, is a private, nonprofit American cable television network. It was created in 1979 as a public service that televises many proceedings of the federal government, as well as other public affairs programming. C-SPAN provides live debates in the Senate and House of Representatives.
